Shocking news from an Amercian university, completely contradictary to Korean one. An American university has turned its library though temporarily into a nightclub in response to students posting satirical messages on social media.
Dozens of students twitted that they “couldn’t go out tonight because they were studying in #ClubAlex” - referring to Alexander Library at Rutgers University in New Jersey.
But instead of ignoring the tweets, the university officials decided to deal with it with the hilarity by turning the building into a nightclub for Senior Week for students to reflect on themselves and have fun before leaving.
One student said: “[It’s] super exciting because I was here 48 hours ago studying for my last final and now I’m here drinking.”
It is not known if Rutgers is planning to hold the event again but some will be hoping that they do. Just the mere fact that the university could make such choice and had some executives that could pass such decision is a hopeful and creative start for better future. The students of the university will now see the place where they are learning as not just a place that is boring and where they have to pull an all-nighter but also as a meaningful piece of their memory afterwards.
